DRYWALL REPAIR & PATCHING

Holes, cracks, water damage, popped screws, failed corner bead, and old patches that never blended in — we cut the damage out, rebuild the substrate, and match the surrounding texture so the repair disappears.

Repairs we do every week

  • Doorknob holes, furniture damage, and accidental impacts
  • Hairline and settlement cracks at corners, headers, and ceiling seams
  • Water damage from roof leaks, plumbing, and overflowed fixtures
  • Nail pops, screw pops, and seam ridging from framing movement
  • Access holes left behind by plumbers, electricians, and HVAC crews
  • Damaged inside and outside corners and failed corner bead

Why a repair fails — and how we prevent it

Most repairs that show later were only surface work. Compound smeared over a soft or moving edge cracks again within a season. We square the opening back to solid material, back it with framing or a backer, fasten the patch so it cannot flex, tape the perimeter, and feather the compound wide enough that the plane change is invisible under raking light.

Water damage requires more than new board

Wet board and wet insulation have to come out, and the source has to be fixed first or the repair will fail. We cut back to dry, sound material, let the cavity dry, replace insulation where it was saturated, and rebuild with moisture-resistant board where the location calls for it. If we see conditions that need a specialist — active leaks or suspected mold — we tell you rather than covering it up.

Texture matching is part of the repair

A patch is only finished when you cannot find it. We match knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, hand-troweled, and smooth level 5 surfaces, and we test the spray or trowel pattern on scrap first so it lands the same as the wall next to it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a job too small?

+

No. We do single-hole patches as well as full-room repairs. Call (323) 830-6708 with a photo and we can usually price it quickly.

Do you paint after the repair?

+

We deliver a sanded, primed-ready surface and can prime the patch. For full color matching and finish painting we will tell you honestly whether it is better handled by a painter.

How long before the patch can be painted?

+

Compound needs to dry fully between coats, so most patches are paint-ready one to three days after we start, depending on the size and the humidity.
